F.A.Q.S

Do I need an appointment to visit Anna Mode and if so how can I make an appointment?

We are always happy to help and you are welcome to visit our store without an appointment, however, if you want a one-on-one consultation with our experienced staff it is best to make an appointment to avoid waiting or disappointment, especially on a Saturday. You are welcome to contact us in various ways to confirm an appointment; by telephone, e-mail or by filling in our appointment form on our website. We ask all  our brides to have their wedding date set before coming to try dresses on as the date of your wedding can make a difference to which dresses are available.

How can I get to Anna Mode?

Our store is located in London and is very accessible by many modes of transport. We are a 5 minute walk from Finsbury Park Station. Our shop is also reachable by bus, W3, W7, 4, 19, 29,106, 153, 210, 236, 253, 254 &259. There is also a map and our full address on our website here.

What should I expect from my appointment?

Our appointments usually last around 45 minutes to an hour and we are committed to giving each bride a professional and personal consultation in which your bridal consultant will help you decide what to try on and provide you with relevant and honest advice. There is no obligation to buy a wedding dress after an appointment, however if there are timing issues with your gown or limited stock our non-commission based consultants should advise you of this.

Who should I bring to my appointment?

It is always helpful to bring someone you trust to your appointment. We advise one or two people ideally as this makes for a relaxed but informative experience. Our store is happy for you to bring more people than this if you wish, except on a Saturday when we are busy and have limited room. We also advise that bringing children with you can be stressful and distracting.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

For your initial appointment where you are still trying on dresses we advise that you wear a strapless bra and bring an open mind! It is also useful and time-saving if you take a look at our website and make a note of the styles you like. For your fittings, however, you will need to bring the shoes and underwear you will be wearing on your big day, this is very important as it makes a big difference to how your dress will be altered.

How long do I need to order my dress?

We can order most dresses within 2-3 months, we then advise that for your own benefit you leave around 1 month for alterations.  There is also the option of a ‘rush-order’ with many of our dresses which would reduce waiting time, however, this usually incurs an extra cost. Please do not panic if you have less than 6 months before your wedding as we stock a large number of Sample Gowns which can be bought immediately and altered to fit.

What is a Sample dress?

A sample is a dress which is tried on in our store, these are the dresses which you will try on while you are deciding what dress you want to order. Our samples are all new dress and will never have been worn outside our store. Occasionally we will sell our samples to brides who have limited time until their wedding. When this happens we will usually alter this dress to fit. Before coming in to buy a sample or try a particular dress please call the day before to check it is still in store.  In our experience, buying a sample can be a time-saving, economical option which doesn’t compromise on quality or wow-factor!

How can I pay for my dress?

We always ask for a deposit of 50% of the cost to order your dress, this deposit is non-refundable. We will also need to measure you and take some personal details so that we can order the correct size and contact you when your dress arrives. Once this is done you can pay for your dress as you like, but the balance must be paid before your first fitting. If you are buying a sample gown we ask that a deposit is left to secure the dress and then the balance must be cleared within 2 weeks. Alterations are free of charge with our dresses but additional charges will incur if you would like to add extra material or work done to your dress.Your alterations are paid directly to the seamstress when you collect your dress. We accept cash and Credit and Debit cards.

How many Fittings will I need?

Although we will order your dress in the closest size to you so you may need some alterations to make sure your gown fits absolutely perfectly. At Anna Mode we have an exceptional in-house alterations service, meaning your dress never has to leave the shop. We usually work on the basis of having two fittings; one to pin the amendments and a second to check that you are happy with the changes.  The alterations are subject to an additional charge which is based on what you have altered. There is no obligation to have your alterations done with us although we highly recommend that you take your dress to a reputable alteration hand.

What if I am planning on losing a lot of weight before my wedding?

We will always order your gown in the size you are at the time of ordering, we offer a full in-house alterations service which can take your dress down once it arrives in store. We know that in this case it is always better to err on the side of caution, as a dress can be easily reduced in size.

What if your samples don’t fit me?

We stock a wide range of Sample dresses ranging in size from 6UK – 24UK with the intention that every bride is able to try on a range of dresses, however, if a dress that you want to try is not in your size our consultants will either pin or extend the dress to give you the best representation of how the dress will look on you.

How do your dresses range in price?

We are committed to making sure every bride, whatever the budget, should be able to find a beautiful gown in our store. To ensure this we have a ‘Star Buy’ range which are dresses that are available immediately and cannot be ordered. These dresses start at £300 and have never been worn outside our shop. Our newest collections which are made to order can reach £2,500, however, these sample dresses can also be bought at a reduced price. You must always keep in mind that your accessories and alterations will be additional to the price of the dress. When you visit our store please let us know what your budget is and our consultants will advise you which dresses fall within your price range.

What happens once my dress is ready?

Once you have had all your fittings and your dress is perfect we will press your dress free of charge (meaning it will be steamed so it is lovely and wrinkle-free!) and we will pack it in our black bridal bags with much care. If you are travelling we also offer a packing service in which we will pack your dress into your hand luggage bag. We will then ask you to come and collect your dress and wish you a lovely wedding!
